Rainbow Bridge

Our Rainbow Bridge

My father had a great love for all animals, especially dogs. It was his love for animals that he instilled in me from the time I could walk. Many times he came home after a long night in the emergency room with an orphaned or injured animal a nurse brought in. He taught us to care for them and hopefully one day we could release them back to the wild in our woods.

In his last years he enjoyed traveling in his RV with me to the ASCA shows and babysitting puppies while I was at work. He had the pleasure of attending two National Specialties, meeting the breeders and loved watching the Aussies compete in the various venues.

Heidi was my second Aussie, companion and protector. Together we were introduced to the world of showing dogs. Heidi was shown primarily in Altered classes, in her senior years she often helped build the majors in Altered.

The journey started with Heidi. I have made many new friends world wide with new adventures along the way. Heidi is pictured with Shawna Beaty, it was Heidi's last time in the Altered ring.

You are gone much too soon, but live on in my heart. See you at the Rainbow Bridge my dear friend....

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor, those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they miss some one very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over green grass his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your beloved pet, so long ago gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...
